The Institute of Metrology
Quality Inspection and Supervision attached to
SQI has established an integral quality supervision system. It has obtained the
authorization of 8 compulsory inspection items from Shanghai Municipal Bureau
of Quality and Technical Supervision, namely pressure gauge, testing equipment
of insulation resistance against electricity, balance, weighing apparatus, measurement
appliances and etc. Its calibration scope covers various fields: wireless sets,
electromagnetism, linear measurements, mechanics, thermometry, chemistry, time
and frequency, optics and acoustics. The Institute has 310 testing items accredited
by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment. Furthermore,
its calibration laboratory is examined by Calibration Management Office of
Shanghai (headquartered in Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical
Supervision) with 44 approved projects. Among all the testing and calibration instruments
of the Institute, 92 calibration standard appliances are assessed by the
measurement standards of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical
Supervision.
