National Center of Inspection and Testing on Electric Light Source Quality (Shanghai) is specialized in inspecting light sources and lighting appliances, which is among the first group of A-level national inspection centers.

The center is authorized with nearly 200 inspection qualifications involving over 400 standards, and owns nearly 800 pieces of equipment.

National Center of Inspection and Testing on Electric Light Source Quality (Shanghai) is approved by CNCA for its CCC qualification, As an appointed Lab of Industrial Product (Lighting Equipment) Quality Control and Technology Assessment (Shanghai), it is also accredited as consigned testing laboratory of China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), contracted testing lab of China Environmental United Certification Center Co., Ltd.(CEC) for Product Certification of China Environmental Labeling, IECEE CB Testing Laboratory, recognized Laboratory of ELI Quality Certification Institute, EPA Recognized Laboratory. The center is the secretariat of CNCA TC05 Expert Group for Compulsory Product Certification of Lighting Equipment as well as the leader of IECEE/CTL-ETF5 domestic specialist group.

Inspection Capabilities

The center provides safety, performance and energy-saving testing for electronic ballasts, inductance ballasts, LED modules, accessories used by DC or AC electronic control devices and other various types of incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, low pressure gas discharge lamps ( fluorescent and UV lamps), high intensity discharge lamps ( high pressure mercury lamps, high pressure sodium lamps, metal halide lamps), LED light sources ( LED lighting diodes, OLED organic light-emitting materials, EL plane bending luminescent materials ), and it can also provide EMC testing services for lighting products.

Scientific & Technological innovations

The center is responsible for establishing over 50 national or industrial standards on light controlling devices and light sources. It is the organizer of one of the cross-strait proficiency tests who has accomplished the project of United Nations China Green Lighting Promotion (UNDP) as well. ,The center is in charge of National “863” Program ，National Science and Technology Support Program and scientific researches of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People`s Republic of China and has won the second prize of Science and Technology Prosperous Inspection Award by AQSIQ. The center has obtained one invention patent four utility model patents and one software copyright, among which one utility model patent use right was purchased by a famous instrument manufacturer in U.S..
