National Center of Quality Inspection and Testing on Distributed Power Equipment in Smart Grid (Shanghai) is approved by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in November 2013, which is attached to Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research. The construction objective of the national center is to be a national quality supervision and inspection center, integrating product testing, quality adjudication and safety assessment into the national center.

The national center has abundant technical capacity and excellent testing technology. In existing employees, over 85% are professional and technical personnel, including 13 professorate senior engineers and senior engineers. The laboratory built area is around 3500 m2, with equipment asset valued 60 million, equipped with sampling, measuring & testing equipments, such as 3 meter anechoic chamber & EMI receiver, digital electrodynamic vibration table, large area environment testing chamber, high & low temperature shock test chamber, EMI & EMS test system, high power program-control power supply series, steady state simulator, transient state simulator, electric power quality analyzer, measurement of mechanical load, noise monitor, environment monitor, test system of wind turbine & grid connection.

The national center belongs to the fist batch of IECEE_CB testing laboratories in China, capable of testing 12 kinds of wind turbine products, 4 kinds of PV products, and all kinds of new energy storage batteries (including the BATT battery), covering 110 domestic and international standards, involved in tests of safety, performance, environment and EMC. 

The testing capabilities of the national center, approved by CNAS, CMA and CAL, cover wind turbine machine performance, grid connection performance, key components performance, crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic modules, PV modules, thin-film terrestrial photovoltaic modules, household solar photovoltaic power system, stand-alone PV system, flat-plate photovoltaic modules & panels, photovoltaic devices, lead-acid storage batteries used for energy storage, PVES batteries & storage battery, Photovoltaic, and etc. The national center also has strong scientific research ability, undertaking high-level scientific research projects and work from relative technical committees.

The national center provides service & technical support, including certificating & monitoring of distributed power equipment, product quality supervision, entrusted inspection, safety assessment, and etc.
